Disability Awareness through Games at the Westfield Mall

Disability Awareness through Games at the Westfield Mall

On June 13, 2009, from 10:00am– 1:00pm, Josina Lott Residential & Community Services is holding a Lawn Games mock competition in which individuals with intellectual disabilities and community members play fun athletic events together that have been specially designed so everyone can participate on an equal playing field.

Come join in the fun and meet individuals from Josina Lott Residential & Community Services. The event was created with three aims: to promote understanding of people with disabilities, and to allow people to participate in fun, competitive games no matter their ability level, and to promote a volunteer event July 11th on the campus of Josina Lott Residential & Community Services. Games such as Tailgate throw, Rattle rail toss, Wheel chair obstacle course and others were designed so that everyone can participate on an equal playing field. It is a great way for our community to reach out to people with disabilities so that we feel a kinship with each other.
