Giving Back

As a not-for-profit community minded organization, we understand the importance of philanthropy. Both our staff and residents take part in a variety of community service programs throughout the year. It is our way of giving back to those who give so much to us.

Our residents and staff worked tirelessly for the Beads of Hope Campaign to gather emergency supplies and other goods that provided support for the disaster victims of Hurricane Katrina.

An important Josina Lott holiday tradition for the employees, individuals, and consumers is to unite in the spirit of giving by adopting families/people that live at the Beach House Family Shelter. Our gifts provide these families with the opportunity to enjoy the holiday season in a way that would not be possible without the donations of others. The Beach House Family Shelter was founded in 1921 and is dedicated to providing emergency shelter to over 600 homeless women and families (35% of which are small children) annually in the Toledo area, linking them with resources for stable housing.

We are quite proud of our Angel Tree that shines brightly through the holidays. The tree, filled with individual “angels,” sits in the Activity and Education building for everyone to see. Individuals, staff and volunteers are encouraged to participate in giving a gift to each angel.

Other organizations we work with include:
